I think the lines presented in abstract works should carry a degree of character or else the work would pass off as a mere wall decoration. Lines of writings is a symbol of culture and signature which tells history, identity and charisma. With calligraphy as a catalyst, my lines are expressing the likes of semiotics and language.

2017 transitional ABSTRACTS

Based on the abstract sketches from 2016, lines were pushed towards the edges. Rather than having the image presented in the dead center, the picture frame cuts them off, leaving the result as if the viewers are peeking through a window at another world.

The Character series:

Line wanders freely.
When a life/line walks into another one repeatedly, a knot/story is formed.

As our lives cross over others', each relationship develops into a knot/ bonding. Some bonds are as loose as passers by; others are entangled tight as families. Nevertheless, these meetings are precious moments. On paper, these common area are shapes that residue in space.

These drawings brought light to the later discoveries as these lines went crazier and filled the page.
